Who We Are
The Board of Directors of Young Women in Law consists of the following ten women:
Jessica Catton
Jessica Catton is the current and founding president of Young Women in Law. She obtained her J.D. from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2008. She graduated from the University of Windsor in 2005 with a Bachelor of Commerce and obtained her MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business in 2012. Jessica summered and articled with Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP where, following her call to the Ontario bar in 2009, she returned as an associate in the business law group. While attending Osgoode Hall Law School, Jessica was the President of the Legal and Literary Society and served a term on the Osgoode Alumni Association's Board of Directors.
Danielle Traub
Danielle Traub is the Vice President and a founding member of Young Women in Law. She obtained her LL.B. from the University of Western Ontario in 2008, her M.B.A (distinction) from the Richard Ivey School of Business in 2008 and graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 2004 with a B.A. (distinction) in Philosophy. Danielle summered and articled with McCarthy Tétrault LLP where, following her call to the Ontario bar in 2009, she returned as an associate in the business law group. In the spring of 2012, Danielle joined Bennett Jones LLP where she is now the Manager of Professional Development and Student Programs.
Heela Donsky
Heela Donsky is the Director of Sponsorship of Young Women in Law. She obtained her J.D. from the University of Western Ontario in 2009 and graduated from York University in 2006 with a B.A. in Administrative Studies. Heela summered and articled with Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP where, following her call to the Ontario bar in 2010, she returned as an associate in the estate planning and wealth management group. While attending Western Law, Heela served as second-year representative (2007-2008) on the Student Legal Society, the law school's student government, and volunteered with the Pro Bono Students Canada program.
Kellie Gray
Kellie Gray is the Director of Marketing and Communication of Young Women in Law. She obtained her J.D. from Queen's University and graduated from McMaster University in 2004 with a B.A. Kellie articled with Roy Elliott O'Connor LLP where, following her call to the Ontario bar in 2012, she returned as an associate and practices class action and commercial litigation. While attending Queens Law School, Kellie was the Communications and Public Relations co-ordinator of Queen's Legal Aid Society. Prior to attending law school, Kellie spent 4 years working Sales, Marketing and Customer Relationship Management in the Internet and Loyalty Marketing industries.
Stephanie King
Stephanie King is the Director of Events for Young Women in Law. She obtained her J.D. from the University of Western Ontario in 2010 and graduated from Queen's University in 2007 with a B.A. (Honours) in Art History and Philosophy. Stephanie currently acts as in-house litigation counsel for Intact Insurance, following her articles and work at a litigation boutique in downtown Toronto. While attending Western Law, Stephanie was the head of the Law Ball Committee, a member of the Orientation Committee and she completed a summer legal internship position with the United Nations in Vienna, Austria.
Adrian Walrath
Adrian Walrath is the Secretary of Young Women in the Law. She obtained her J.D. from the University of Western Ontario in 2010 and graduated from the University of Victoria in 2006 with a B.A. (distinction) in Political Science. Adrian summered and articled with Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP. Following her call to the bar, she worked as in-house counsel before joining the Investment Industry Association of Canada where she advocates on behalf of Canada's financial service industry. Adrian was Chair of the Community Outreach Committee while at the University of Western Ontario, the Committee organized charity events and provided volunteer opportunities to law students.
Erica Young
Erica Young is Treasurer & Director of Membership of Young Women in Law. She obtained her J.D. from the University of Toronto and graduated from the Queen's University in 2008 with a B.Comm (Hons.). After articling at a national full service law firm, Erica joined Chitiz Pathak LLP as an associate in their commercial litigation group. While at the University of Toronto, Erica co-chaired the Women & Law group and the Peer Mentorship Program Committee. She also serves as Secretary on the Board of Directors of Meal Exchange, a national, youth-oriented charity dedicated to addressing food security issues.
