Using Social Intelligence to Succeed
Join Delee Fromm, lawyer, psychologist and author, and YWL for an interactive session about Using Social Intelligence to Succeed. The Program will focus on social skills and intelligence useful in the workplace, such as being in the information loop, knowing what is valued and rewarded by the organization, being able to create positive personal perceptions, sizing up situations and people quickly, and knowing how to predict, prevent and protect others from losing face. The focus of the Program will also be on social intelligence in the context of preventing being blindsided by dirty office politics and helping lawyers to be more productive and effective at work.
This Program will introduce attendees to five dimensions of social intelligence (SI) including Situational Awareness, Organizational Awareness, Influence and Authenticity, Relationship Management and Communication. Using a short self-scored questionnaire, attendees will discover their strengths and challenges on each dimension. To more fully explore these dimensions, interpersonal skills associated with each will be introduced. Case studies will be discussed and examined to better understand and use SI. This awareness and information will allow attendees to more authentically develop and use their SI to advance and succeed in the practice of law.
