The 7th Annual Young Women in Law Charity Gala

Please join YWL and The Heller Group for an evening of networking and fun in support of a worthy cause!

YWL is thrilled to announce that Laura Nirider, Clinical Assistant Professor at Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law, Lawyer, Project Director of the Center on Wrongful Convictions of Youth, and counsel to Brendan Dassey, whose legal battle received global attention after the airing of the Netflix docu-series Making a Murderer, will be the keynote speaker at this year’s event.

All funds raised will be donated to the Center on Wrongful Convictions of Youth (CWCY), an organization spearheading efforts to exonerate wrongfully convicted youth and drive criminal justice reforms that will prevent children from making unreliable and coerced statements during police interrogations. CWCY is the organization representing Brendan Dassey and many other youth who falsely confess.  It is the only organization in the world dedicated to solving the problem of juvenile false confessions.
